FurKidz Instincts Cat Toys

For the FurKidz™ INSTINCTS cat toy range, I evolved the design to incorporate a darker backdrop, intending to accentuate the vibrancy of the toys and ensure they stand out on the retail shelf. This 2024 edition underscores the playful and primal essence of the range while creating a striking contrast that draws the eye.

Maintaining the integrity of the initial design, I deepened the colour scheme to create a night-like ambience, simulating the twilight hours that speak to a cat’s nocturnal instincts. The lush jungle motifs remain, but their colours are now more subdued against the dark background, symbolizing the awakening of the senses that these toys aim to provoke in a domestic setting.

The product's tagline, "ENRICH. PLAY. HUNT.", continues to take prominence at the top of the packaging, aligning with the brand's message of natural instinctual play. The use of bright toy images against the new darker colour palette does indeed make the toys 'pop,' capturing the attention of both feline and human consumers and communicating the joy and vibrancy of the play experience that lies within.

This design iteration for the FurKidz™ INSTINCTS line was a strategic move to enhance shelf visibility and appeal. It showcases my adaptive approach to design, where understanding the nuances of consumer behaviour and retail environment informs aesthetic decisions. The final design not only serves its functional purpose but also stands as a bold statement piece within the product lineup.
